I'm a little obsessed with having the focal point smack dab in the center of my bouquets.

The flowers that made my heart burst.

Last month I provided flowers for a collaborative, editorial shoot with a theme "Shoe-string wedding".  I am absolutely enamored with the bouquet and table arrangement. I was sad to let it go at the end of the night, being so proud of what I made. After showing some pictures to my husband later in the evening, he said "Don't you dare stop doing flowers, Val!".  My heart burst with joy to have his approval and support.  If I can make something this beautiful, I can't wait to see what I am capable of a year from now!

Welp, here are few shots I snapped of my babies...

I'll keep you tuned in when the shoot is in print.  There was sooo much beauty and talent involved.

So, you can call me....

This was an original name that I stormed up without gathering ideas from others.  It was the first name I wanted to name my business.  I tried it out, then changed it to Pine, and then was pondering Field Study Florals.  I realized that I was venturing away to ideas inspiring, but not my own.  I pride myself on staying true to who I am and I want to be confident with my own ideas. So I am back to being Flower Afternoon.  The name and I will eventually become one.  Over time, my brand and personality will be evident in my name.

I am off to Ecuador tomorrow night.  When I get back in two weeks I will be getting more official with a business license, staking claim to my name, ordering business cards, re-vamping the blog, getting a flower cooler, stocking up my vase collection, etc. This all sounds like so much fun!!

Cecret Lake

My husband turned 28 a few weekends ago.  We did a short birthday hike in his honor.  This is at Cecret Lake up past Alta Ski Resort.  I couldn't believe all of the stunning, picturesque views.  I couldn't restrain myself from taking a few of the wildflowers of course. They were perfection.  Below are some instagram pictures and you can follow me too :) @bananacreamiebear or search Val Hunter
